When a recipient opens the received e-mail he or she is informed that a new account has been opened in their name. Besides, they are told that a ticket has been charged to their credit card. Hawaiian Airlines warn their customers that these e-mails contain an attachment that at first sight looks like an electronic ticket. However, actually this attached file contains a virus. In case users open this attachment, their computers will be contaminated. These e-mails also include references to login, password and credit card information. It is important to note that Hawaiian Airlines never contain such information in e-mails to their customers, except for cases when it is requested. Hawaiian's Senior Director of Information Technology, David Wu, confirms that "this email is not linked to Hawaiian in any way." Therefore, all customers who receive such kind of e-mails are advised not to open the attachment and to immediately delete the e-mail from their inboxes.
