Adobe Finally Patches Vulnerability In Shockwave Player

 

According to the law of attraction if you think positively, positive things will happen. When it comes to computer security vulnerabilities I have been very positive that fixes, updates and patches will be released to rectify the increasing amounts of vulnerabilities. I am here to tell you that my positivity has paid off because Adobe has finally patched the vulnerability in Shockwave player.

Yes you heard me, it is official, Adobe has finally released version 11.5.0.600 of its fantastic Shockwave Player, in order to fix the dangerous vulnerability which existed in previous versions. The Adobe Shockwave player allows access to some of the best entertainment that the internet has to offer. The Shockwave player actually displays fantastic web content by none other than Adobe. A file which is related to Shockwave Player includes but is not limited to the following: swhelper_1020022.exe.

The risk that this vulnerability presented to its users was that malicious characters were actually able to compromise  and take complete control of the systems of chosen users. The catch with regards to this vulnerability is that in order for it to be taken advantage of in the correct manner, it is imperative that users first open up a tampered with file of Shockwave.Shockwave.jpg

The versions which are affected by this vulnerability include but are not limited to versions 11.5.0.596 of Shockwave. Users need to be made aware of the fact that the chances are high that previous versions have also been affected. Malicious characters could perform malicious tasks of their choice by taking full advantage of this Shockwave vulnerability.

To fix the Shockwave Player vulnerability the following is recommended:

  1. First you need to effectively uninstall the old player on your system.
  2. You then need to restart your entire system
  3. Proceed to install the new version with care and precision.
  4. Follow the instructions and have a safer Shockwave Player experience.
