I have good news and I have bad news, I am just trying to decide which news to tell you first. Okay, I have reached a decision, I am going to start with the bad news, that way we can get it out of the way and move on. Okay, the bad news is that, in-depth knowledge of the vulnerability is currently being withheld until the majority of Google Chrome users make use of the available fix. Now for the good news, Google has finally released version 2.0.172.33 of Chrome 2. This security update fixes one of the critical vulnerabilities related to the web browser, which is actually based on Apples Webkit browser application framework. The cause of this vulnerability is an error that occurs when the processing of certain responses from the HTTP servers take place. If a response from the server is manipulated, this may result in a buffer overflow vulnerability, the server crashing or alternatively the execution of arbitrary code taking place. How to update Google Chrome if you currently have Chrome installed:
Google Chrome as we all know, is another web browser option which has grown in popularity since its release, last year. Google Chrome has many help sections which are geared for users who may not have the best computer skills. Google is extremely helpful in providing its users with step by step instructions on various different aspects, as well as informing users in a simplistic manner, how to go about installing the Google Chrome browser. One of the many files related to Google Chrome include, but are definitely not limited to chrome.exe. It is highly suggested that all users, update to the latest versions. When it comes to the world of computer security and vulnerabilities, the latest versions, in a general, are likely to be more secure. The Google Chrome security team has been working hard at locating and fixing any potential vulnerabilities that exist and so far they have remained true to their word. All the best to you all and I hope that you have a wonderful browsing experience. |
