As you might know by now, different security software vendors give different names to the same virus. So this is not the only name you can find it under, but I will get to the alias names of this terrible Cash4Downloads Trojan a bit later. This Trojan actually downloads and installs many advertising programs onto your machine. If you think this is annoying, wait till I tell you the really annoying part. The really annoying part is that even if you go to the Add/Remove option in the control panel of Windows, and remove it, that will not solve the problem completely. After the removing and rebooting process, there is a good chance that the Cash4Downloads Trojan will reappear. If you think you have heard it all, with regard to this annoying adware Trojan, you are very much mistaken. Some of the Cash4Downloads files are hidden on your machine, thus making it harder than ever for you to detect them and completely remove the Trojan. Tricky isn't it? These Trojans have been specifically designed to be annoying and hard to get rid of. Welcome to the world of computer viruses, it's not a nice place to be now is it? Now let me get a bit more technical. One of the files related to this Trojan is: axdlplug.dll and the associated MD5 signature is: 5f3bf0aee25ac3b1ef5e162b6e649699. Another file related to this Trojan is setup2.exe and this time it is associated with the MD5 signature: da0c6a0f9c65a362c355ebdcf2101249. How does this Trojan infect your system? Some of the ways that it affects your machine include:
Table 1. Cash4Downloads Aliases The manual removal of this Trojan may be difficult for people who are not very technical and don't know much about computers. You also run the risk of completely messing up your computer if you remove this Trojan in the incorrect manner. You may want to rather use a detection tool that is geared to find malware on your system. Make sure that whatever tool you use also has an option for removal, as some malware tools just detect it without removing it. You may also want to make sure you are using a decent firewall and a sufficient antivirus program that is updated regularly. |
