TrustyHound Is Untrustworthy

By this point in your life you should know who you can and can't trust. Trust forms the fundamental basis of any successful relationship and is an important part of human relationships. Sometimes it is difficult to know who to trust and who not to trust especially when somebody has something to gain from the situation. Determining if somebody is a trustworthy candidate can be a very confusing process. All these concepts of trust that are applied to human relationships can also be applied to your relationship with your computer. There are some programs that can be trusted and some that can't, one thing that definitely can't be trusted under any circumstances is the TrustyHound malware.

Why is TrustyHound so dangerous? The computer infection is dangerous because of its nature and the methodologies it uses. Firstly it collects your information, your imagination can go wild just considering how much personal information you have on your machine. It is able to literally create it's very own desktop and start menu links. These links are to various sites on the internet. The malware is installed as a toolbar and creates a search engine in the system tray. The collected system information is then sent to a remote server, this is obviously the last thing that you want to happen to all your confidential information. Another scary aspect is that TrustyHound is run on every Windows startup.

How to Remove TrustyHound Manually:

You are going to need to kill the following processes:
Trustyhound-ts-installer.exe, trustyhound-ts.exe

You need to delete the following registry values:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\TrustyHound-TS
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\TrustyHound-TS (Companion Tools) _is1

You need to delete the following files:
Trustyhound-ts-installer.exe, trustyhound-ts.exe, toolbar.dll, autofill_plugin.dll, whitelist_plugin.dll, unins000.exe

You will need to also delete the following directories:
C:\Program Files\TrustyHound-TS
C:\Program Files\TrustyHound-TB

In order to manually remove TrustyHound, you really need to know your way around your machine. It is suggested that you know what you are doing before you even attempt it. The files related to TrustyHound include: autofill_plugin.dll and webSave_plugin.dll. The MD5 signatures associated to these files are: b95988fe22700c70b11829a276800cb3 and 4b8228acb1b338bf1d97c53094cc003a. It is important to be consciously aware of the properties of this alarming infection. These properties include it connecting itself to your internet connection as well as the factor that it remains stable in the background of your machine. I would thus like to leave you with an interesting quote in conclusion: "I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image"-Stephen Hawking - Physicist THound.jpg
