Here it comes again! The creators of, most probably, the hugest rogueware family are striking again. I am talking here about the Winisoft rogue applications, including SoftStronghold, SoftCop, SoftSoldier, and about 30 others. This time get ready to meet a new descendant with an attractive but rather strange name, ShieldSafeness. What has to be known about it and how to remove the rogue from the infected system? ShieldSafeness (also known as Shield Safeness) similarly to its siblings, usually enters a computer with the help of Trojan applications. They can be dropped and installed onto a victim's computer system either through unreliable websites or unsolicited attachments. ShieldSafeness often comes with various other spyware, viruses and adware. It should also be noted that the rogue can be downloaded directly from its website s h i e l d s a f e n e s s . c o m. Although my personal experience shows that the "download" link very often simply doesn't work, don't try your luck and don't visit any similar websites. You never know when cyber criminals will attack you! When on the system, ShieldSafeness acts in a similar way to other fake applications in this family. First of all it starts scanning your system and, of course, finds hundreds of terrible infections that can destroy your computer. After the scan ShieldSafeness immediately starts displaying fake warning messages and system notifications claiming that your system is infected. All you have to do now is buy the full version of the program. However, don't get trapped because ShieldSafeness won't resolve any security problems on your PC. Have a look at the following screenshot. Its layout really resembles other rogueware applications of this family. Image 1. Fake scan Let's move on to the analysis of ShieldSafeness itself. As is the case with any other malware, this rogue anti-spyware program is associated with several distinct files that need to be deleted in order to remove the threat from an infected system. Have a look at the following table with three files, their distinct sizes and MD5 signatures:

All this may prevent ShieldSafeness from entering your system.
