Have you recently started receiving system notifications and security warnings that your PC is infected with malware? Well, you should take them seriously if all these messages are provided by a reliable and up-to-date anti-virus application. Otherwise, stay extremely alert and don't react too quickly. Watch out if all this is not related to Desktop Defender 2010 - a new rogue anti-spyware application, increasingly attacking a huge number of unaware computer users.
Desktop Defender 2010 (also known as DesktopDefender2010, DesktopDefender 2010, and Desktop Defender2010) is known to be created by the same group of cyber criminals who are responsible for the development of a well-known rogueware family. Its other members include Contraviro and UnVirex applications. It can reach your system without your knowledge and consent. All this is done with the help of Trojan applications. These Trojans can either directly drop the rogue onto your system or redirect your browser to the website of Desktop Defender 2010 where you'll be prompted to download the program. Let's have a look at this website: Image 1. Desktop Defender 2010 website The analysis of the above mentioned website (w i n d e s k t o p d e f e n d e r . c o m) has shown that the registrant is Henry Nguyen Gong located at Rue la produit 34, Nimes Languedoc-Roussillon 30189, France. However, according to the IP address of the site - 212.117.164.60 - the real birthplace of the malware is in Luxembourg. These completely different results show that cyber criminals are doing their best to stay undetected and perform their malicious activities successfully. Similarly to other rogueware, when on the system this program performs fake system scan and starts displaying fake warning messages, saying your computer is infected with made up viruses like "Keygen-Nero.a" or "Genericdx!ae0965a7157c." The aim of this can and fake warning messages is to make the affected user to buy the full version of, actually, a completely useless program. Do you want to be one of them? I bet, you don't. Therefore, keep an eye out for my next article with a video, screenshots and more technical information on the installation file of Desktop Defender 2010.
