NewsThe Winisoft family has tried its fortune once again. In the end of the last week, several new rogueware applications appeared online. Although the title "SystemVeteran" sounds legible and resembles an ordinary anti-spyware application, it's just another software trying to trick you and gain some benefit. In the same manner as other rogues, including BlockProtector, BlockKeeper, BlockScanner, BlockWatcher and a bunch of others, SystemVeteran may sneak into your PC in several different ways. First of all, you can download the malicious application from the domain s-y-s-t-e-m-v-e-t-e-r-a-n-d-o-t-c-o-m. My advice is to keep away from it. Here is the screenshot of the site promoting the evil rogueware: Image 1. SystemVeteran website Another way to get infected is simply after accidentally clicking on the pop-up which looks like a simple on-line scanner. Besides, sometimes this virus hides in the updates of video codecs. Thus beware and keep you and your computer out of trouble. As soon as SystemVeteran enters your computer, bear in mind that the rest of the actions taken are just scare tactics. All the simulated scans of your PC, warnings that you are infected mean nothing and lead to the purchase of the program. All in all, SystemVeteran is a Trojan-based application promoted by the hackers who are trying to cheat on you. Be careful with the malicious software. Do not install it. Remove it as soon as you notice it on your PC. Besides, wait for my next article on SystemVeteran on our site. We will provide you with more information on this rogueware. |
