Do you still remember the well-known Winisoft family, attacking computer users almost every single day? It still does not seem to stop its villainous activities. Now the rogueware application is under the name LinkSafeness, sometimes referred to as Link Safeness. Let's try to take a closer look at this fake software. It looks like the hackers from the Winisoft generation have at last got bored with the interface of their malicious application and have decided to improve the layout. Take a look at the screenshot of the LinkSafeness scan: Image 1. LinkSafeness Fake Scan Although the layout looks different, the same threat is hiding under it. Similarly to other creations of the Winisoft, LinkSafeness steals into your personal computer through different ways. In most cases, you are just trying to download a video codec or flash update to be able to watch a movie online, and then bang! Your computer is infected. Of course, there is another way to get this rogueware. If you click on a pop-up advertising this fake product, LinkSafeness is installed and you even aren't able to notice that. Beware that your permission isn't of a need at all. After the process of installation, all the fun starts. Registry of your PC is configured in such a way that LinkSafeness starts every time you boot Windows up. That's why your computer is constantly scanned with the fake application. However, these scans are simulated in advance and all the files recognized as infections are created by the backdoor Trojans on which LinkSafeness is based on. In addition to the scans of your PC, you start getting threatening warnings about the bunch of infections found, as well as the notice that you are in danger. However, the real danger here is LinkSafeness itself! My advice is to keep away from this fake application. Do not install it on your own will. If it is too late, and LinkSafeness is already hiding on your PC, remove it as soon as you notice it. Beware and do not believe in these villains. |
