Similarly to other rogue applications, Antimalware Defender (sometimes also known as AntimalwareDefender, Rogue.Antimalware Defender, Rogue.AntimalwareDefender) uses aggressive tactics in order to scare victims and make them believe that their system is infected with malicious parasites. All this is done with a purpose to convince victims to purchase a full version of the program. It is important to note that Antimalware Defender can be dropped on the victimized system by Trojans and other annoying malware. Upon execution, this rogue application will display fake system notification prompting you to download a critical security update. The message reads as follows: "Antimalware security update for Windows XP (KB961118), Size: 433KB. After the installation, Antimalware Defender will, of course, perform fake system scans and display falsified results. The program is also known to be related to the following symptoms:
My advice here would be to stay alert and not to allow cyber criminals to trick you. Remember that Antimalware Defender will neither clean, nor protect your computer. You should always browse with caution and use only reliable, updated and REAL anti-virus software. All this may prevent your system from being infected with rogue security programs. |
