NewsIt seems that the hobby of Winisoft rogueware developers is creating new, and often very funny, names for their malicious applications. APcSecure, SystemVeteran, QuickHealCleaner, IGuardPC... These are just some of them. Today I would like to warn you against a new malicious Winisoft family member called GuardWWW. Is it worth our attention and should we be worried about it? Similarly to other members of its family, GuardWWW (sometimes also called Guard WWW and Guard.WWW) manages to sneak into a victimized system through malicious pop-ups, banners or fake video codec updates. All this is done with the help of Trojan applications. The program can also be downloaded from its malicious website g u a r d w w w . c o m. I'd highly recommend you NOT to visit this website, if you don't want to get infected. Once on the system, GuardWWW starts scanning your PC and without a doubt finds a whole bunch of infections. Here you can see a screenshot of GuardWWW, performing its malicious activities: Image 1. GuardWWW fake scan After this falsified scan, everybody will be asked to purchase a full version of the program. Don't do that! GuardWWW will neither detect real threats, nor protect your computer. The only aim of its creators is to infect your system and steal your money. I bet you don't want to become their next victim. Therefore, be cautious and browse with caution. Besides, follow my articles with the analysis of GuardWWW website and its installation file. |
