Beware! CleanUp Antivirus Trying to Break Into Your PC

cleanupantivirus.jpgEvery single day, more and more threats are entering the web. Unfortunately, the creators of this type of malware have started to be more inventive. This time they have designed the rogueware named CleanUp Antivirus.

CleanUp Antivirus has come from the same family as Security Antivirus which has been widely discussed in the end of February. Similarly to the previous fake anti-virus software, CleanUp Antivirus might me easily mistaken for real antivirus application because of its tricky name. On the web, there is a great bunch of antivirus software which is designed to clean your computer from garbage. Thus be careful and don't get in any kind of trouble.

Are you curious how CleanUp Antivirus gets into your PC? The answer is: in the same manner as most of the roguewares do. The malicious software can enter the victimized system while users are unknowingly searching for codec updates, flash player and similar things. Another way to get the infection on your PC is visit some unreliable websites or clicking on unknown links. In most cases, computer users aren't aware of the malware being installed to their machines.

In case the fake software is installed successfully, it is able to load at startup of Windows into memory. For this reason, CleanUp Antivirus becomes really hard to be removed manually. Just after the installation, the malicious anti-spyware starts its actions. First, it begins scanning your PC. The scans are immediately followed by the warnings which threat computer users that their machines are in danger. However, in order to remove them, you are prompted to purchase the full version of CleanUp Antivirus. Be sure you aren't caught by this cheap trick.

Although CleanUp Antivirus looks like a legible application on the surface, in reality it is just scam created to make computer users believe that they are in danger and must pay money. However, it is neither able to detect nor to remove any infections or viruses from your machine. Keep an eye for my further analysis of this rogueware and save your money instead of giving it to the cyber criminals.

The mystery over Ctrl+Alt+Del is solved, the BIOS is not impacted, the file Taskmgr.exe has been corrupted.

Removal is streight forward, repairing the damage is another story. Microsoft, Symantic and PC Tools are all disabled and will not re-install, leaving the machine totaly unprotected against all threats.

Rebuild from scratch is the only way to be sure everything is gone.

My client is infected, it has disabled Ctrl+Alt+Del and Symantec antivirus product. Safe Mode allowed me to delete the User%/startup entry, but the damage remains.
