Every single day more people use internet not only for looking for the information but chatting with friends, doing business and even paying their taxes. Cyber criminals seem to be aware of that. Thus they have started a new attack.
Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) has been attacked by a new phishing scam. People using a free service provided by the U.S. Department of the Treasury have received strange messages to their emails.
These email messages claim that the tax payment was rejected. At once, a user is redirected to read the additional information on another website. Of course, this website is fake and malicious spreading the malware and infecting the user's PC.
Mainly, the fake message has a subject line "Your EFTPS Tax Payment ID has been rejected." Be sure not to reply to this message in case it was sent to your email. In addition, do not try to open any links, or submit any information you are required. Be sure you don't get into the traps of this phishing scam.
